Optional equipment

Last updated: 18 June 2012

Beyond trim level, L322 buyers could add a long list of factory options. Knowing what a particular car has (and whether it still works) matters a lot on a luxury car this age.

Key takeaway: More options = more to fail. Test every electrical feature on a viewing. A long list is great value only if it all works.

Comfort & luxury options

  • 14-way power heated/cooled front seats with premium leather
  • Heated rear seats; later reclining rear seats with winged headrests (HSE Lux/Supercharged)
  • Power sunroof; upgraded leather and wood packages
  • Rear-seat DVD entertainment system
  • harman/kardon 1200W 19-speaker audio (2011)

Technology options

  • Navigation with voice activation (standard higher up the range)
  • Dual-view centre screen (non-US): driver sees nav while passenger watches DVD
  • Surround / multi-camera vision system (from 2010)
  • Push-button start (2010), note: keyless entry was not offered?Allegedly keyless access would have needed new quick-release door latches, forcing Land Rover to re-crash-certify the car. So even late push-button-start L322s still unlock with the fob.

Safety & vision packages

  • Vision Assist package (2010): adaptive auto high-beam, more
  • Optional blind-spot assist
  • Adaptive bi-xenon headlights that turn with steering
  • Active/Adaptive Cruise Control with Forward Alert (radar)
  • Hill Hold Assist (2011)

Buying notes

TIP More options = more to fail. Test every electrical feature on a viewing, seats, cameras, screen, sunroof, audio. A long options list is great value if it all works, and a liability if it doesn't.
