The L322 was sold worldwide but specifications varied by region — the US in particular got a simplified line-up, while the UK/Europe had the full spread of engines and trims. Knowing this helps when comparing cars or importing.

Engines by market

Market	Engine availability
US / North America	Petrol-only for most of its life: BMW 4.4 V8, then Jaguar 4.4 / 4.2 S/C, then 5.0 / 5.0 S/C. No diesel officially (the TDV8s were not sold there).
UK / Europe	Full range incl. 3.0 Td6, 3.6 TDV8 and 4.4 TDV8 diesels plus all petrols.
Other markets	Varied by region and tax/fuel rules; diesels common in Europe/Australia.

NOTE This is why most US L322s are thirsty petrol V8s, while most UK cars are diesels — a key point if you're importing or comparing fuel costs.

Trims by market

US: simplified. Early cars a single HSE; later Supercharged and Autobiography, with an HSE Luxury pack.
UK/Europe: full ladder — SE, HSE, Vogue, Vogue SE, Westminster, Autobiography, plus European-only trims (e.g. HST on the Sport).

Equipment differences

The dual-view centre screen was not offered in the US.
US early cars came well-equipped as standard (tri-zone climate, nav, rear camera, 6-disc CD).
Some European-market colours (e.g. Cairns Blue, Monte Carlo Blue, Icelandic Blue) were not sold in the US.
Audio: Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround on facelift cars; big harman/kardon 1200W system from 2011.

Notes

IMPORTING If importing a UK diesel into a petrol-only market (or vice versa), factor in parts/specialist availability, emissions/registration rules and the fact that diesel TDV8?TDV8. Land Rover's twin-turbo diesel V8 (3.6, later 4.4): the 'AJD-V8' / 'Lion' engine, prized for huge torque. expertise may be scarce where the engine was never officially sold.
